My name is Bill Taylor and I’m a Chief Marketing Officer at Chief Outsiders, a management consulting firm with 75 battle-tested corporate CMOs that provide fractional CMO services for tech companies in the $20M to $200M range.
I had just left my job as CMO at LLamasoft in February of 2019 and I started attending Brian Bundeson’s Tuesday morning Connectors Club when I started looking for a job.
I had only lived in Ann Arbor for about a year and a half and had not networked in Ann Arbor as I was heads-down 60 hours a week at LLamasoft. As a result I literally had no personal or professional network in Ann Arbor.
Connectors club was my first networking event and I can directly connect the dots between that first meeting and my current role as CMO at Chief Outsiders. Here are the connecting dots… I met Ryan Shuchman, a financial advisor and former Investment Banker at the connectors club.
Ryan introduced me to a number of local CEO’s and investors. When I decided to start my own Fractional CMO business, through my new local network, I was introduced to an investor that knew of a Fractional CMO firm called Chief Outsiders. I was introduced to Chief Outsiders and joined the firm in January.
I also met Mike Gruely at the Connector’s Club and Mike introduced me to his network of EOS Implementers and local marketing executives that then expanded to a network of Fractional Sales Executives.
Since we all provide services to similar size companies, this has become a great referral community.
Connectors Club is a flourishing group of abundance-minded people driven to build meaningful personal and business relationships and since we come from very different personal and professional backgrounds the reach of this group is enormous.
I have Brian Bundeson and his Connector’s Club to thank for kicking off my journey and continuing to be a source of growth, strength, support, and community.
